PSU module

PSU Module

A single PSU module is fitted to each system to provide the voltage rails required by the CPU and all input and output cards.

The PSU module provides input supply surge protection and is fused to protect the module. The cleaned, surge protected high voltage supply is used to supply the 'Top Box'.

The PSU module is fitted with a switch mode power supply to enable the system to accommodate fluctuations in supply voltage.

Three front panel red LED's are used to indicate the correct operation of the +12V, -12V and +5V power supply rails.

Part Number: PCB-ASS-PSU

  • Keyed connector to prevent incorrect installation
  • Over-voltage protection
  • Front panel indication of voltage supply rails

CPU module

CPU Module

A single CPU module is fitted in each system to handle both the communications from the control box to the top box and to co-ordinate the signals from the various input and output modules.

A front panel red LED is fitted to indicate communications with the input and output modules.

Part Number: PCB-ASS-CPU

  • Keyed connector to prevent incorrect installation
  • Front panel indication of communication status

T/C module

Thermocouple Module

The thermocouple module is capable of handling upto 16 sensor inputs. All inputs use differential circuitry to reduce noise and improve accuracy.

A front panel red LED is fitted to indicate when it is communicating with the CPU module.

Part Number: PCB-ASS-TC

  • Keyed connector to prevent incorrect installation
  • 16 sensor input
  • Type J or K input

Single zone output module web.jpg - 50210 Bytes

Single Output Module

The Single Output module contains one zone rated at 16 Amps at 50V ac., suitable for use with low systems requiring 16 Amp outputs on each zone. Each output zone is fused with Fast Blow FF fuses and dual leg fusing is available for US wired systems.

Front panel leds indicate communication from the CPU module (red LED), output fuse operational for each zone (green LED) and output activity (yellow LED).

Part Number: PCB-ASS-OP1

  • Keyed connector to prevent incorrect installation
  • Front panel indication of communication status
  • Front panel indication of fuse status
  • Front panel mounted fuse holders

Dual zone output module web.jpg - 50210 Bytes

Dual Output Module

The Dual Output module contains two zones rated at 7.5 Amps at 50V ac., suitable for use with low voltage (24V) hot runner systems e.g. Plasthing, MoldMaster. Each output zone is fused with Fast Blow FF fuses.

Front panel leds indicate communication from the CPU module (red LED), output fuse operational for each zone (green LED) and output activity for each zone (red LED).

Part Number: PCB-ASS-OP2

  • Keyed connector to prevent incorrect installation
  • Front panel indication of communication status
  • Front panel indication of fuse status
  • Front panel mounted fuse holders

Quad Zone output module web.jpg - 50210 Bytes

Quad Output Module

The Quad Output module contains four zones rated at 3.5 Amps at 240V ac. Each output zone is fused with Fast Blow FF fuses.

Card is designed for directly driving hot runner bushings or probes. The high zone density enables more zone to be accommodated with a cabinet than if the single output cards were used.

Off board Solid State Relays are used to increase the current ouput on manifold zones.

Front panel leds indicate communication from the CPU module (red LED), output fuse operational for each zone (green LED) and output activity for each zone (red LED).

Part Number: PCB-ASS-OP4

  • Keyed connector to prevent incorrect installation
  • Front panel indication of output status
  • Front panel indication of fuse status
  • Front panel mounted fuse holders

4-20mA Input Module

4-20mA Current-Loop Input Module

This unit is installed on the internal DIN-rail, unlike most of our modules which are installed in the rack.

Each module provides four input zones via 400-series panel-mounted buccaneer connectors. Each of the four zones provides power to a remote sensor (24VDC) via a twisted-pair cable. Sensor information returns to the CM8 via the same pair of wires.

Part Number: Contact EFI for ordering information.

  • Provides for a wide range of sensor types to be connected to a CM8.
  • Primarily used for monitoring coolant flowrate.
  • Linked to the alarm systems of the software.
